Merge Transpositions

Question: under Menu File - Options - Misc there is the function "Merge transpositions".

What is the function of this entry?

Answer: This function refers to the merging of games. Within ChessBase the user can select several games in the games list and merge them into a variant tree.

Example:

1.e4 d6 2.d4 d5

1.d4 d6 2.e4 d5

These variants can be optionally combined or not with the function, these are frequently occurring move changes.
