Setting limits

Answer

In the Options dialog there is the section for Limits. There you will find two useful entries, namely Maximum Board Windows and Maximum Database Windows.

What can be done with these entries in practice or what do the values represent?

This feature makes sense above all when you have an older computer with fewer resources. Every open window requires resources and memory from the system, which with less powerful machines can lead to a state where it is no longer possible to guarantee smooth running. If you are installing ChessBase on an older computer with relatively little random access memory, it is in your own interest to reduce these values until the processing of data is more fluid.
