The reference view in ChessBase

A click on the  Reference tab in the board window in ChessBase starts the automatic openings reference. In the background the program performs a rapid search in the reference database for the actual position on the board at that time and every time the board view is updated it presents a great amount of statistical information, In the column headed Score the number of points achieved with any particular continuation is displayed in percentage form.

In interpreting the results displayed in this column, it must always be borne in  mind that the value shown is always from White’s point of view and does not take into account which side actually has the move.
