3/3/2023 – “Armageddon Championship Series: Americas”, the first event of the cycle developed by World Chess, will take place on March 6-12 in Berlin. Wesley So, Jose Martinez, Ray Robson, Leinier Dominguez, Sam Shankland, Andrew Tang, Renato Terry and Eric Hansen will play a double-elimination blitz knockout, as they battle for €50,000 in prize money and two spots in the series’ Grand Finale.
5/6/2022 – In a review published in Chess Life, John Watson looks at a number of titles that explore the Jobava London System. He notes, “It’s remarkable that 2.Nc3 was considered a marginal and even anti-positional move for most of chess history. It is now played by the world’s elite and creates fresh and interesting play”.
3/12/2022 – On the occasion of its 30th anniversary, the "London Chess Center" is organizing a match between two top Grandmasters: David Howell from England and Nils Grandelius from Sweden. The match is taking place from 2 to 12 March at the Swedish Ambassador's residence in London. Going into the final game, Howell leads by a 5-4 score. Game 10 starts Saturday at 15:00 CET (2pm GMT, 9:00 am ET). Follow the game live and with commentary.
2/17/2022 – It will be a ten-game encounter, with five games at slow time control, five fast. In March Swedish grandmaster Nils Grandelius will play English grandmaster David Howell in London. 6/28/2021 – Ulf Andersson is the best Swedish chess player of all time and at his peak he was the world's number four. Andersson is also a correspondence chess grandmaster and one of the best correspondence chess players in the world.
