Game of the Week #582

This is the third time in four weeks that we are going to study a game by Praggnanandhaa, which once again emphasises that he not only has amazing results, but also plays impressive games.

In the finals of the World Cup he is currently tied 1-1 with Carlsen in the classic games and the tiebreak will decide who wins the tournament. We will study Pragg's decisive game against Caruana, in which his imagination and determination won the day.

Warm-up question: What would you play here with White?

The flexible Open Spanish

In this opening Black opts for active piece play and is not afraid to fight for the initiative from an early stage. One of the many good features of this opening is that Black is often the side which controls the pace of the game.
