The most prominent event of the past week was the Oslo Esports Cup, which is part of the Meltwater Champions Chess Tour. Exciting chess as usual, and suprising results here and there. After a very exciting final round Jan-Krzysztof Duda won ahead of Le Quang Liem, Magnus Carlsen and Praggnanandhaa.
Especially world champion Magnus Carlsen clearly had his ups and downs. His provocative 1.f3 in one of his games in his first-round match against Duda seems to reflect his somewhat unusual mindset.
