The "Chess Quiz" app invites you to a little challenge - it asks questions about chess. About its history, its culture, famous and not so famous chess personalities, about trivia, openings, chess events past and present, etc., etc., etc.

The quiz is in multiple-choice format: each question comes with four answers and you have to pick the correct one.

Below the answers you see your score and the difficulty of the question. A "score" of 1/2 means that you answered one of two questions correctly. "Difficulty" indicates the "Quiz-Elo-rating" of that question. You get points for a correct answer, you lose points for an incorrect one.

Currently, about 2,500 registered users tried their wit with the quiz. As of writing the best user is "woodshifter2016" with a quiz-elo of 2369.

Ranking (as of April 26, 2018)

The quiz includes about 1,000 questions. With a rating of 2160 the following question has the highest rating: "In 2015 a Russian Grandmaster won the $2,500 Omaha/Seven Card Stud Eight-or-Better event in the World Series of Poker. Who?"

That's a hard one - did you know the answer? If that was too difficult try the lowest rated (Elo 1464) question: "Magnus Carlsen is from..."
