Grand Chess Tour confirms 2020 schedule

2/19/2020 – The Grand Chess Tour, which was announced one month ago, is a standard-bearer for world-class events. In the latest press release, the organizers have now announced dates, confirmed participants and venues for this year's tour. There will be two tournaments with classical time controls and three rapid and blitz tournaments. The 2020 GCT

This year's Grand Chess Tour starts in Bucharest, where the ten seeded participants of the Grand Chess Tour (see table below) will play a classical tournament from May 3rd to 16th. The other classical event in this year's tour, with the same participants, takes place from August 31st to September 11th in St. Louis.

In addition, each of the ten full tour participants will also play in two of the three rapid and blitz tournaments, as follows:

At the tournaments in Paris and Zagreb, three players with wild cards (to be confirmed) take part alongside the seeded players, while four wild cards will compete in St. Louis.
