5/24/2018 – Today in Baden-Baden the match is held for the German League Championship 2018. The team of OSG Baden-Baden meets SG Solingen in a tiebreak match after both teams were tied through fifteen regulation rounds. Baden-Baden is very strong, as usual, led by Fabiano Caruana, Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, and Viswanathan Anand, but Solingen has brought in world number nine Anish Giri to play top board.

5/4/2018 – The three-day Bundesliga finals in Berlin ended Tuesday without a definitive result. The top teams Baden-Baden and Solingen featured many professional stars and, with no major upsets — each won all three rounds and therefore finished tied — a playoff match will be needed at a later date. The unified Bundesliga has been around for 37 years, with the first season played in 1980 and 1981. At that time the Solingen SG won, after a tie against the team of SG Porz. 2/5/2018 – In the 8th round of the "Schachbundesliga" there was another big surprise: The powerhouse OSG Baden-Baden yielded a 4-4 tie against the Hamburger SK, and their advantage over SG Solingen now stands at only 1½ board points. The HSK team showed strength on the lower boards, where Thies Heinemann managed to upset Rustam Kasimdzhanov. 2/4/2018 – The 7th round was played in the chess Bundesliga on Saturday. In Norderstedt, north of Hamburg, OSG Baden-Baden with Maxime Vachier-Lagrave on the top board clearly defeated the host club with 7 : 1, thus remaining at the top of the league. There was a big upset however, for the strong newcomer from Deizisau: The favoured squad lost a fight against Munich MSA Zugzwang 3½ : 4½. The match between Werder Bremen and Solingen finished 4 : 4.

10/23/2017 – One of the world's strongest team events, the Bundesliga, pits 16 teams with eight boards each against each other, on seven weekends over six months for a round-robin tournament. As each team can nominate as many non-German players as money allows, top players such as Fabiano Caruana, Vishy Anand, and Anatoly Karpov, to name just a few, regularly show their skills in the league. This season's favourite is the OSG Baden-Baden, which has dominated for more than a decade. But Hockenheim and Solingen hope to have a shot at the title should Baden-Baden stumble. On the first weekend it did not.
