Game history

Answer

Chessbase creates an accurate log of the work done with the program on request. In the game history the work of the user is logged and saved. The program saves every game that was loaded by the user.

This ensures that you can quickly find the data you last worked with without the need for time-consuming research. If you work on extensive analyses, the program automatically creates a backup copy in the game history at intervals of 10 minutes.

Clicking on the "Game History" entry in the left part of the database window opens the corresponding view with the data structure mimicked by Explorer.

Below the window with the directory structure you will find the "Search" button.

This starts the search mask and you can immediately search for specific games in the pre-selected folders.

Depending on the intensity of work, the memory requirement for the individual databases on the hard disk increases. Therefore it is possible to delete the individual databases from ChessBase. Right-clicking on a folder or path brings up a context menu that offers the option to delete.

The function uses the Windows recycle bin, so the databases can be restored. The game history can also be disabled, e.g. if you want to save disk space. To do this, deactivate the option "Game history" under "Tools - Options - Misc".
