Syzygy Endgame Turbo

Answer

Question: I  have bought and installed  the EndgameTurbo 4 with the Syzygy databases. However, I have the impression that CB14 is not using the files. The pathways to the Tablebases have set themselves up automatically and in my opinion fit in appropriately with the installation on the hard disk (e.g. D:\Tablebases\Syzygy345). A first test was negative, even when I use an engine which supports this data format.

Can you give me a tip as to how I can run a test without any doubt attached to it and what I can do if the  endgame turbo does not actually switch on?

Answer: If you have installed the engine and chosen access to the endgame tables in the options, either set up a simple endgame or load a game which finishes with an endgame.

Then start the infinite analysis and check whether the desired information from the endgame databases is being displayed.

If you look more closely, in the engine window access to the available endgame tables is also being displayed.

For the sake of clarity the display indicating access is highlighted in colour.

Should no information be displayed despite correctly set pathways and integration, tale into account the following hint: the tb-access display is only visible, if only a single variation is being considered.

Note: In multi-variation mode this information is not displayed!

The following screenshot shows an example in multi-variation mode:

Now the way it appears with access display in normal single variation mode:
