One underestimated function in Fritz & Co is the “Position tutor”. This function is based on its own chess engine and is available both in the chess program and on playchess.com. Unlike other engines it does not display a numerical value as an evaluation of the position but points out in natural language specific features of the position.

The function is intended above all for newcomers to chess to draw their attention to critical moments in the game.

Advanced players will find the function useful when following games broadcast on the Fritz server in the new multiboard. It is interesting because a click on a board will immediately draw your attention to critical moments in the game in natural language.
