Thoralf Karlsson reports:

One of the two new entrants on this rating list is Yace Paderborn Athlon 1200 MHz. After 389 tournament games the program has a rating of 2603. Yace Paderborn is an amateur program written by Dieter Bürssner and Carlos Pesce.

We have now played 781 games with Frans Morschs latest program. Fritz 8.0 (ver 8.0.0.23) on Athlon 1200 MHz has 2760, one point ahead of it's predecessor.

Compared to the latest list from February 13, Shredder 7.0 UCI K6-2 450 MHz has gained 18 points. The other changes are insignificant.

Shredder 7.0 A1200 continues to keep the first place of the list, with eight points ahead of Fritz 8.0. With such small rating differences, it's of course impossible to claim that one program is better than the other one, against chess programs. What we can say is that the "true" rating of Shredder 7.0 with 95% probability lies within the range 2795 - 2743, and that the same range for Fritz 8.0 is between 2787 and 2734.

A few days ago we started to play with Shredder 7.04 UCI A1200. When Junior 8.0 arrives, it will also be tested.

Next rating list will probably appear in July or August.

Here are some SSDF statistics:

Fritz has dominated the SSDF list since 1998. Since then 30 lists have been published, and Fritz was in first place in 20 of these lists. It's closest rivals were Shredder (three times first place) and Tiger (twice). Here are the statistics on how many times each program has been first:
