I take a close look at the crucial final round game between the two Dutch players Anish Giri and Max Warmerdam. In a must-win situation, Anish decided to surprise his opponent with a new idea in the Keymer Variation (1.Nf3 d5 2.e3) and it worked wonderfully for him, as White got a very promising attack.

Exercise: Black has just taken the knight on c3. How should White recapture?
