Round 2 Open

The three nominally strongest teams in Novi Sad are Syberia (Elo average 2745), Alkaloid (Elo average 2732) and Padova (Elo average 2718) and all three scored convincing victories in round two. However, there were some top encounters in individual games, e.g. in the match between Padova and Maria Saal, in which Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, currently the world's number three, played against Markus Ragger, currently number 45 on the world's ranking list. Padova won the match 5.5-0.5 and Vachier-Lagrave also scored a convincing win.
