Moscow Grand Prix – June 1 to 6, 2002

The FIDE Moscow Grand Prix takes place from June 1st to 6th, 2002. The top players are Garry Kasparov, Ruslan Ponomariov, Evgeny Dreev, Vassily Ivanchuk and Alexander Grischuk.

Of the 30 players only nine are not Russian speaking: Judit Polgar (Hungarian), Joel Lautier (French), Kiril Georgiev (Bulgarian), Etienne Bacrot (French), Pedrag Nikolic (Bosnia), Viktor Bologan (Moldavia), Krishnan Sasikiran (India), Yasser Seirawan (USA) and Ehsam Ghaem (IRI).
