6/22/2014 – With her win over Bela Khotenashvili WGM Ju Wenjun caught up with her compatriot, Chinese GM and Women's World Champion GM Hou Yifan. Both players have 2.5/3 points. Following at 2.0 are four GMs: Koneru Humpy, who will soon be married, and Harika Dronavalli from India, Anna Muzychuk of Ukraine, and Nana Dzagnidze of Georgia. Round three report.

The fourth stage of the the FIDE Women’s Grand Prix series 2013-2014 is taking place at the Ugra Chess Academy, Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia from the from the 19th of June until the 1st of July 2014. It is a twelve-player round robin with time controls of 90 minutes for the first 40 moves, with 30 minutes plus an additional 30 seconds per move for the rest of the game. The total prize fund is 60,000, with the winner getting 10,000 Euro.

The key game of this round was Hou Yifan vs Koneru Humpy, top seeds and perennial number two and three in the world rankings. The game ended in a draw after the Chinese GM missed a great winning chance.

Grand Prix standings

Grand prix points were then allocated according to each player's standing in the tournament: 160 grand prix points for first place, 130 for second place, 110 for third place, and then 90 down to 10 points by steps of 10. In case of a tie in points the grand prix points are shared evenly by the tied players. Players only counted their best three tournament results. The player with the most grand prix points is the winner.
