12/22/2005 – The XVIII Memorial Carlos Torre Repetto is taking place from December 15-23 in Mérida, Yucatán, México. There was a Swiss tournament with eight players proceeding to the knockout phase, where they were joined by seeded GMs. Pictorial report.

Results up to the semifinals

The pairings for the semi-finals are Lazaro Bruzon (2677, CUB) vs Nikola Mitkov (2520, MKD) and Michal Krasenkow (2655, POL) vs. Frank de la Paz (2456, CUB). Apparently Krasenkow and Bruzon have made it to the finals, but the games are not yet available.
