The "Mediterranean Flower” Women’s GM Tournament, a ten player round robin event., was held in Rijeka, Croatia, from March 11-18, 2006. This was already the sixth Mediterranean Flower in Rijeka, Adriatics, and the tenth if one counts a similar event on the neighboring island of Krk. The common feature of all these chess beauty contests is in the singularity of their organizer and anchorman, Ivan Mandekic.
