The match between Kasparov and Ponomariov is being held as part of the Prague unity plan, by which the winner will play the winner of a second match between Vladimir Kramnik and Peter Leko. In the press conference Kirsan Ilyumzhinov revealed details of the game plan for the reunification. Both the preliminary matches are to be held in the early summer period, the final is planned for November 2003.
